Mission:
The Missouri State Council on the Arts stimulates and encourages the growth, development, and appreciation of the arts by providing organizations with financial and technical assistance for arts projects throughout the state. Project funding requires local matching funds so Council funding reinforces but does not replace local initiatives.
Function:
The Missouri State Council on the Arts awards grants to eligible Missouri-based organizations to underwrite arts and cultural programs for the people of Missouri. The Council also promotes the development of the arts with special, long-term initiatives that are designed to improve the climate for and practice of the arts in specific areas.
Subcommittees: Executive Committee, Cultural Trust Executive Committee, Fundraising Committee for the Cultural Trust. Council members also serve on and/or chair advisory panels for each of the Missouri Arts Council's programs and art disciplines.
