Mission:
The Dam and Reservoir Safety Council enforces the provisions of the Missouri Dam and Reservoir Safety Law, Rules and Regulations, performs a statewide program of inspection of regulated dams over 35 ft. in height, ensures that all new dam construction meets minimum safety standards, and monitors the upgrading and operation of existing dams and reservoirs in a manner which will provide adequate protection of public safety, life, and property.
Function:
The Dam and Reservoir Safety Council was created for the regulation of dams and reservoir safety. The Council is responsible for adopting general technical guidelines and the standards, guidelines, rules and regulations applicable to permits; and for carrying out a state program of inspection of dams and reservoirs in accordance with regulations adopted by the Council.
