Declaration makes assistance available in 12 Missouri counties
Jefferson City, MO

In response to a request from Gov. Jay Nixon, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced today it will make low-interest disaster loans available to residents and business owners in 12 Missouri counties that were affected by severe storms, flooding and flash flooding from Aug. 2 to Aug. 14. The SBA declaration was for Pulaski and Taney counties, which also makes the low-interest loans available in the contiguous counties of Camden, Christian, Douglas, Laclede, Maries, Miller, Ozark, Phelps, Stone and Texas

"Twice this spring and summer, Missouri was hit hard by severe storms, flooding and flash flooding." Gov. Nixon said. "These low interest loans through the SBA can assist families and businesses in affected areas with rebuilding and repair efforts. Tremendous coordination helped in our response efforts, and we are just as committed to working with communities as they rebuild."

SBA disaster loans are issued to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes, and private, non-profit organizations to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, inventory and business assets that have been damaged or destroyed.
