State Resource, Recovery and Rebuilding Center in Joplin to have new location, beginning Wednesday

The State of Missouri Resource, Recovery and Rebuilding Center in Joplin will be at a new location beginning Wednesday (June 20). The center, which for more than a year has served as a one-stop shop to assist Joplin-area residents affected by the May 2011 tornado, will be located at 3600 E. Newman Road, at the regional offices of the Missouri Department of Mental Health. The center has been at 705 Illinois since it opened on June 7, 2011.

More than 2,300 Joplin-area families have been helped through a wide variety of services offered by several state agencies at the resource center.

The new offices will include credit counseling services, services through the Missouri Housing Development Corporation and Department of Economic Development, and referral services to other state agencies. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The phone number for the Resource, Recovery and Rebuilding Center is 417-625-9100.
