Gov. Nixon appoints Salem attorney to be Dent County prosecuting attorney
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Salem attorney Brandi L. Baird as prosecuting attorney for Dent County. The position became vacant after the resignation of Jessica Sparks.
Baird is an attorney with the Nanci R. Wisdom Law Firm in Salem. Her practice has included cases in family law, criminal law, probate, business law and real estate law. Baird, age 36, previously served as legislative and constituent director for the office of the Speaker of the House for the Missouri General Assembly. She is a 2000 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and received her undergraduate degree in criminal justice administration from the University of Central Missouri.
Baird, a sixth-generation resident of Dent County, is married to Brandon Schloemer. They have one son, Maxton.
"I am pleased to appoint Brandi Baird as Dent County prosecuting attorney," Gov. Nixon said. "The prosecutor holds the trust of the people of that county, and this is a position of great responsibility. I have confidence that her experience and background will help her ably serve the people of Dent County."
