Gov. Nixon appoints Kellie Ritchie as Lafayette County Prosecuting Attorney
Jefferson City -- Gov. Jay Nixon today announced the appointment of Kellie Ritchie, of Lexington, as prosecuting attorney for Lafayette County. The position became vacant upon the resignation of Page Bellamy, who has joined the staff of Attorney General Chris Koster.
Ritchie, 46, served as assistant prosecuting attorney in Clinton County from 1999 to 2005 and as assistant prosecuting attorney in Buchanan County from 1990 to 1996, prosecuting both felony and misdemeanor cases in those positions. She was most recently in private practice in Lafayette County.
"Kellie Ritchie has proven her ability to represent the citizens of Missouri in prosecuting cases in two different counties," Gov. Nixon said. "Lafayette County has been very ably represented by Page Bellamy for many years, and I am confident Ms. Ritchie will continue that strong representation."
Ritchie is a 1988 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law.
