Gov. Nixon appoints deputy clerk as new Putnam County Clerk

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Chrystal D. Perkins, of Unionville, as the new clerk for Putnam County. The position of clerk became vacant upon the resignation of County Clerk Sue Ann Varner, effective Aug. 31.

Perkins, a Republican, has served as the deputy clerk for Putnam County since 2006. She previously worked for the Putnam County Health Department and for Green Hills Community Action Agency. Perkins is a graduate of Putnam County R-1 High School.  

"Chrystal Perkins has ably served the people of Putnam County as their deputy county clerk, and I am confident that experience will enable her to serve them well as their new county clerk," Gov. Nixon said.
