Gov. Nixon releases statement on House passage of autism-coverage bill
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Jay Nixon released the following statement regarding the vote by the House of Representatives to pass House Bill Nos. 1311 & 1341:
"Today's bipartisan vote by the House of Representatives is a major step forward for children with autism. The bill passed by the House would ensure that children and families have access to both an autism diagnosis, and to treatments and therapies that have been shown to make a major and lasting difference. I tremendously appreciate that hard work by Representatives from both sides of the aisle that has moved the bill this far, and I look forward to working with the Senate to take the next important steps. Requiring the coverage of autism treatments will change the lives of kids and families across Missouri, and it's simply the right thing to do."
House Bill Nos. 1311 & 1341 now moves to the State Senate.
