Gov. Nixon congratulates three new state representatives; pledges to continue working in bipartisan manner to move Missouri forward
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Jay Nixon has called three new state representatives who won special elections this week to congratulate them on their victories and pledged to continue working in a bipartisan manner to move Missouri forward.
Gov. Nixon spoke to Pat Conway (D-St. Joseph) and Nita Jane Ayres (R-Branson West) and left a message congratulating Hope Whitehead (D-St. Louis).
"I look forward to working with these new state representatives in a bipartisan manner to tackle the big issues facing Missouri families," Gov. Nixon said. "As I said during my State of the State address, this should be the year we put politics second, and put Missouri first."
The three new representatives are expected to be seated as members of the House of Representatives after election officials certify Tuesday's results.
