Gov. Nixon orders flags to half-staff in Lincoln and Warren counties to honor fallen law enforcement officer

Jefferson City, Mo. - Gov. Jay Nixon has ordered that the flags of the United States and the State of Missouri at all state government buildings in Lincoln and Warren counties be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, Aug. 31, in honor of Paul J. Fricke, who served both as the police chief for the city of Hawk Point, in Lincoln County, and as a deputy sheriff for the Warren County Sheriff's Department.

Chief Fricke, age 37, died in the line of duty on Aug. 27 while serving the citizens of Hawk Point. He was a 2005 graduate of the Eastern Missouri Law Enforcement Training Academy.

Under Gov. Nixon's order, U.S. and Missouri flags at state buildings in Lincoln and Warren counties will fly at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, the day the funeral services for Chief Fricke will take place.
