U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest, disaster recovery loans will assist homeowners, renters, businesses and non-profit organizations with eligible losses in northeast and northwest Missouri

Residents and businesses in nine Missouri counties eligible to receive low-interest disaster recovery loans in response to Missouri's request

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A request by the state of Missouri to make low-interest disaster loans available to residents and businesses affected by flooding, severe storms and excessive rain in June and July has been granted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

Today, Gov. Jay Nixon was notified by the SBA that the low-interest loans will available to qualified homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private, non-profit organizations with eligible losses from June 12 - July 31in the counties of Andrew, Atchison, Holt, Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Nodaway, Ralls and Shelby.    

"The flooding and severe weather that hit Missouri this summer devastated neighborhoods and left many residents and businesses with major clean ups and repair efforts," said Gov. Nixon. "The low-interest loans that will now be available will help residents and businesses as they replace damaged items, make much needed repairs and keep moving forward."

The SBA will open two Disaster Loan Outreach Centers to assist residents and businesses. Customer service representatives will be available to issue loan applications, answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program and application process, and assist individuals complete applications. The service center locations are:

SBA provides low interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private, non-profit organizations to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, inventory and business assets that have been damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster.

Hearing impaired individuals may call (800) 877-8339.
