U.S. flag, Missouri flag to be flown at half-staff Saturday in honor of those who died in terrorist attacks of Sept. 11

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - In accordance with state law, the United States and Missouri flags at all government buildings statewide will be flown at half-staff on Saturday to honor those who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

"September 11 has become a day of remembrance of the events of that terrible day nine years ago, and a day of resolve for the people of the United States to protect the freedoms we enjoy," Gov. Jay Nixon said. "We honor those who lost their lives on that day, and we renew our support for the men and women in our nation's military, especially those serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan."
