Governor to view tornado damage in Branson and Cassville, after stop at Nixa High School; education visit to Cassville has been canceled
Gov. Nixon to examine tornado damage in Branson and Cassville this afternoon
Gov. Jay Nixon will go to Branson and Cassville this afternoon to meet with state and local emergency officials and to view damage from the tornadoes that hit Missouri overnight. The Governor will have a media availability in Branson today at 1:15 p.m. at the Branson Mall. After viewing damage in Branson, he will travel to Cassville to meet with officials there and view damage at 3 p.m.
Gov. Nixon will first be in Nixa this morning at 11 a.m. with First Lady Georganne Nixon for the scheduled stop at Nixa High School to recognize the Nixa School District for receiving Missouri's Distinction in Performance awards. A similar stop previously scheduled in the Cassville R-IV School District has been canceled.
