Gov. Nixon names interim Prosecuting Attorney as new Prosecuting Attorney for Montgomery County

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Jay Nixon today named Nathan A. Carroz, of Montgomery City, to serve as the new Prosecuting Attorney for Montgomery County. Carroz has served as interim Prosecuting Attorney for the county since December; he joined the office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in 2011.

Carroz, a Republican, is a lifelong resident of the county who obtained his law degree from the University Of Missouri School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Hannibal-LaGrange College. In the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, he prosecuted both felony and misdemeanors, as well as advised local law enforcement.

"Nathan Carroz has ably served both as the interim Prosecuting Attorney for Montgomery County and previously as an assistant prosecutor," Gov. Nixon said. "I am pleased to appoint him to continue to serve the people of this county as their new Prosecuting Attorney."
