House Bill 580
On June 19, Gov. Nixon signed House Bill 580 at the Kansas City Fire Department's Station #19. The bill creates a fund to pay a $25,000 death benefit to the survivors of emergency personnel killed in the line of duty. The bill-signing ceremony was attended by fire fighters and law enforcement officers.
