Dedication of Renewable Energy Project
Gov. Nixon helped dedicate a new energy generation facility on Oct. 19 that will use landfill gas from the Jefferson City landfill to provide power to Columbia utility customers as well as steam and hot water to two state correctional facilities. The project will save Missouri taxpayers more than $1 million a year for energy and operational costs. Site manager T.J. Tash is shown here, explaining the conversion process to the Governor.
