As war veterans look on, Gov. Jay Nixon signs House Bill 1731 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. Louis on May 31, 2012. The bill provides a dedicated funding source for Missouri's seven veterans homes, where more than 1,300 military veterans live. House Bill 1731 increases the transfer amount from the Missouri Gaming Commission Fund to the Veterans' Commission Capital Improvement Trust Fund, providing a dedicated annual funding source of $32 million for the ongoing operations of Missouri veterans homes and cemeteries.
