Gov. Jay Nixon and Smith Electric Vehicles U.S. Corporation CEO Bryan Hansel discuss the components of one of Smith's all-electric, zero-emission trucks after the announcement that the Company will create 120 new, next-generation automotive jobs in Kansas City. By 2010, Smith will begin production of two lines of its next-generation vehicles at a new 80,000-square-foot facility near Kansas City International Airport, paying its workers above-average wages and providing health care benefits. Gov. Nixon's administration was able to provide resources under the state's Quality Jobs Program to help attract Smith to the state.download
