Tractor bill
May 29, 2009

Gov. Nixon signs HB 93 & 216 on the South Lawn of the State Capitol on May 29. The bill, which makes tractor parades legal in Missouri, contained an emergency clause, enabling these fundraising events to take place upon the Governor's signature. The Governor was joined at the bill signing by sponsor state Rep. Mike Thomson, of Maryville; by state Sen. Frank Barnitz, of Lake Spring, who handled the bill in the Senate; by Jon Hagler, director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture; by Col. James Keathley, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol; and by members of the Heart of America Tractor Club from Nodaway County. Harold Wolf of Tipton brought a restored 1951 John Deere Model A tractor to the Capitol for the signing.download
