Partnership for Disaster Recovery in Cape Girardeau

Gov. Nixon signs an executive order creating the Governor's Faith-Based and Community Service Partnership for Disaster Recovery in Cape Girardeau on Sept. 21. The partnership includes 16 state agencies, two federal agencies and 16 private, religious or charitable organizations tasked with working cooperatively to improve services provided to Missourians in the wake of a natural disaster or terrorist attack. The Governor signed the order ceremonially after addressing a regional conference of faith-based organizations engaged in disaster response and recovery at the Salvation Army in Cape Girardeau. Looking on while the Governor signs Executive Order 09-25 is Corinne Beakley, of the Missouri Department of Social Services, Family Support Division; Dewitt Campbell, of the Salvation Army; Karen Benson, of the United Methodist Disaster Response; and Cole County Sheriff Greg White, a Partnership member.download
