Hawn State Park
March 14, 2010

Gov. Jay Nixon and First Lady Georganne Nixon enjoy the natural beauty of Hawn State Park on Sunday, March 14. Park superintendent Ed Schott showed the Governor and First Lady several landmarks at the park, including its stunning creek and bluffs. Hawn was one of eight State Parks and Historic Sites the Governor and Mrs. Nixon visited last weekend to promote the affordability and accessibility of the Parks as spring approaches. The Governor also encouraged Missouri youth to apply for jobs with the State Parks Youth Corps, which will put 1,000 Missouri youth, ages 17 to 24, to work at Parks and Historic Sites this summer. To apply, youth should visit MO.gov.download
