Governor Eric Greitens has appointed Craig Hellmann, of Washington, as Circuit Judge for the 20th Judicial Circuit, which covers Franklin, Gasconade, and Osage Counties.  He will replace the Honorable Gael Wood, who retired last month.

Judge Craig Hellmann has served as the municipal court judge for the City of Washington since 1990.  In 2016, Judge Hellmann was elected to serve as the municipal court judge for Franklin County.  He is also the principal attorney of his law practice, Craig E. Hellmann, Attorney at Law, P.C.

Judge Hellmann received his law degree from Washington University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri.  He is a member of the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce, the Elks Lodge #1559, and the Franklin County Bar Association.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Hellmann to the circuit bench,” said Governor Greitens.  “Judge Hellmann brings almost three decades of experience as both a private practitioner and a municipal judge, and I am confident he will serve the 20th Judicial Circuit with distinction and respect.”
