Governor Greitens Makes New Appointments

Today, Governor Eric Greitens made the following appointments:

Midwestern Higher Education Commission

Dr. Chuck Ambrose and Dr. David Knes were appointed to the Midwestern Higher Education Commission.

Dr. Ambrose is President of the University of Central Missouri. In 2012, he founded the Missouri Innovation Campus, which makes strides in closing the skills gap between college graduates and their workforce opportunities. Dr. Ambrose earned his doctorate from the University of Georgia in higher education and his master’s degree from Louisville University.

Dr. Knes is the Superintendent of Valley Park School District, a position he has held for eleven years. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Superintendent for the district. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his master’s degree in education administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

Missouri Dental Board

Dr. Kevin Wallace was appointed to the Missouri Dental Board. 

Dr. Wallace is a dentist from Springfield who owns his own practice. He specializes in prostheses. Dr. Wallace received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from Washington University and his master’s degree from Medical College of Georgia. He is a certified prosthodontist with the State of Missouri.

State Board of Education

Tim Sumners was appointed to the State Board of Education.

Sumners is a retired Pastor from Eastvue Baptist Church in Joplin, a position he held for approximately 20 years.  He serves as the Chaplain for the Joplin Police Department, Joplin Fire Department, Webb City Fire Department, and Reddings Mill Fire District. He earned his bachelor’s degree in religion from Oklahoma Baptist University, his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Ministries from Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta.
