Governor Kehoe to Kick Off National FFA Week Celebrations in Missouri with "Drive Your Tractor to Work Day"


JEFFERSON CITY, MO – On Monday, February 10, 2025, Governor Mike Kehoe will join Missouri Department of Agriculture (MDA) Director Chris Chinn, Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Commissioner Karla Eslinger, and Missouri FFA leadership to kick off celebrations for National FFA Week in Missouri.

In honor of the FFA tradition of students driving their tractors to school during National FFA Week, Governor Kehoe and Director Chinn will kick off the celebrations by driving two tractors to the State Capitol. Governor Kehoe will drive a John Deere tractor from Heritage Tractor, and be joined by Missouri FFA President Andi Belt, from Leonard, Missouri. Director Chinn will drive a Farmall tractor from Crown Power, and will be accompanied by Commissioner Eslinger.

More than 300 FFA students from across the state will welcome them to the Capitol on the South lawn.

Immediately following the tractor drive, Governor Kehoe will present a proclamation designating February 15 - 22, 2025, as National FFA Week in Missouri during a ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda.

After the proclamation ceremony,  MDA and DESE will host a Career Day for Missouri FFA students in the Harry S. Truman State Office Building.

Governor Kehoe to participate in Drive Your Tractor to Work Day

*Governor Kehoe and Director Chinn will start at the Missouri Governor’s Mansion and drive their tractors to the south side of the State Capitol. They will park the tractors at approximately 8:45 a.m. and take photos with FFA students on the South lawn.
