Governor Parson to Assess Historic Flooding Damage in St. Louis Region, Meet with Community Leaders

Today, Governor Mike Parson will travel to the St. Louis area to meet with federal, state, and local emergency management partners who are responding to historic flash flooding in the St. Louis region and visit with leaders from affected communities at University City Fire Station. 

Previously announced events for this week will continue as planned. Governor Mike Parson will participate in meetings at the State Capitol and attend various events across the state. He will also hold several meetings with Republican members of the Missouri House of Representatives to discuss the extension of critical agricultural tax credits and the passage of historic tax cuts. 

On Tuesday, August 2, Governor Parson will speak at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's 61st Annual Cooperative Conference in Lake Ozark and speak at the Springfield Chamber of Commerce's State of the State Luncheon. He will then meet with House Republican members from the southwest region in Springfield. 

On Wednesday, August 3, Governor Parson will meet with House Republican members from the central Missouri region in Jefferson City and visit the University of Missouri's Patient Centered Care Learning Center in Columbia. He will conclude the day by speaking at the graduation ceremony for Class 8 of the Missouri Leadership Academy. 

On Thursday, August 4, Governor Parson will attend the first meeting of the Drought Assessment Committee convened as part of Executive Order 22-04. He will then meet with representatives from the Missouri Forest Products Association and tour Royal Oak Charcoal in Salem. Governor Parson will close out the day by visiting Executive Wood Products in Sullivan.
