Governor Parson to Participate in Missouri 5th Congressional District Grain Elevator Tour

Friday, September 6, 2019, Governor Mike Parson will participate in the Missouri 5th Congressional District Grain Elevator Tour hosted by the Agricultural Business Council of Greater Kansas City. 

 

Governor Parson will join Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II, Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Chris Chinn, Agricultural Business Council of Greater Kansas City representatives, and USMCA Coalition-Washington representatives aboard Kansas City Southern’s Southern Belle train to tour and learn more about grain elevators located throughout Missouri’s 5th district. 

Following the tour, the Southern Belle will arrive at Union Station where Governor Parson, Congressman Cleaver, Director Chinn, and representatives from seven Greater Kansas City companies will participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and World Trade Center Kansas City.

The roundtable will focus on the importance and impact of global trade on the Greater Kansas City region. Participating businesses include Black & Veatch, Boulevard Brewery, Burns & McDonnell, Cerner, Garmin International, Hallmark, and Seaboard Corporation. 

A press conference with Governor Parson, Congressman Cleaver, Director Chinn, and representatives from Boulevard Brewery and Garmin will take place immediately following the roundtable.
