Governor Parson Encourages Missourians to Observe a Day of Prayer in Missouri on May 2, 2019

MAY 2, 2019

 — On February 5, 2019, Governor Mike Parson signed a proclamation designating Thursday, May 2, 2019, as a Day of Prayer in Missouri. This will be observed on the same date as the 2019 National Day of Prayer.

“Ever since our forefathers called upon the colonies to pray for wisdom as our nation was being founded, the power of prayer has seen us through both good times and bad. As Governor, I pray that all Missourians will take time on this Day of Prayer to give thanks for the freedoms we should never take for granted,” said Governor Parson. “In a world where many would willingly threaten our democracy, we must continue to pray for God’s blessing and protection,” Governor Parson added.

This Thursday’s 68th observance of the National Day of Prayer was mandated by both houses of Congress and our President.
