Today, Governor Mike Kehoe announced eight gubernatorial appointments to various boards and commissions.
Dr. Elizabeth Bowman, of Farmington, was appointed to the Drug Utilization Review Board.
Dr. Bowman is a family medicine and addiction medicine physician at Missouri Highland Health Center. She is very involved in the medical community, holding memberships in the Missouri and American Colleges of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association. Bowman attended the University of Missouri, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology, before attending the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Kyle Brane, of Kansas City, was appointed to the Missouri Board for Respiratory Care.
Mr. Brane has worked in health care for several years and currently serves as the director of respiratory therapy at University Health Lakewood Medical Center. He is a member of the National Board for Respiratory Care and the American Association for Respiratory Care. Brane received an associate degree in respiratory therapy and a bachelor’s degree in health care administration – respiratory care from Concorde Career College. He also holds a Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
Angela Collins, of Sikeston, was appointed to the Board of Therapeutic Massage.
Ms. Collins has worked as a self-employed, licensed massage therapist for many years. She is a member of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and is also a Missouri State Certified Massage Therapy Mentor. Collins is a graduate of Dexter High School.
Jessica Deadmond, of Troy, was appointed to the Missouri Workforce Development Board.
Ms. Deadmond is president of JD Development Services, doing business as G&P Concrete. She is active in her community and the concrete industry, with memberships in the Troy Area and Western St. Charles County Chambers of Commerce, Rotary International, the St. Louis Home Builders Association, the American Society of Concrete Contractors, and the American Concrete Institute. Deadmond earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
Kirsten Persley, Ed.D., of Kansas City, was appointed to the Missouri Charter Public School Commission.
Ms. Persley currently serves as head of school at the Kingdom School of Kansas City. She is involved with Turn the Page KC and has served as a member of the Kansas City Chapter of Parent Leadership Training Institute Fellows, the LEANLAB Education Board of Directors, and the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Centurions Leadership Program. Persley earned a bachelor’s degree in middle school education from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Missouri–Columbia. She later earned a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Kansas.
Michael Purol, of Monroe City, was reappointed to the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects.
Mr. Purol serves as the director of operations for Missouri at Hutchison Engineering, Inc. He is active in his community and organizations including the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers, the Mark Twain United Way, and the Knights of Columbus. Purol earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Rosella Schad, of Holts Summit, was reappointed to the Board of Geologist Registration.
Ms. Schad is retired after many years of service with the Missouri State Tax Commission and the Missouri Public Service Commission. She is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the International Association of Assessing Officers. Schad earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, a master’s degree in public administration, and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Missouri.
Mark Welker, of Cape Girardeau, was appointed to the Crime Laboratory Review Commission.
Mr. Welker currently serves as the prosecuting attorney for Cape Girardeau County. He is active in his community, serving as a member of Cape West Rotary and holding memberships in the Missouri Bar Board of Governors and the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys. Welker earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri State University and later earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law.
