Today, Governor Mike Kehoe announced four gubernatorial appointments to various boards and commissions and filled one county vacancy.
Karie Black, of Chillicothe, was appointed to the Missouri State Council on the Arts.
Ms. Black is currently a special education facilitator for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She previously served as executive director of the North Missouri Center for Youth and Families. She also served as a board member for the Cultural Corner Art Guild and Gallery and as a volunteer for Livingston County 4-H and the Missouri State Fair Foundation. Black holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Missouri, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership & Secondary School Administration and Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership & School Administration from Northwest Missouri State University.
Lois Brace, of Mexico, was reappointed as chair of the Missouri State Council on the Arts.
Ms. Brace is currently the executive director for Presser Arts Center in Mexico, Missouri. She is very active in the arts community, currently serving a member of Americans for the Arts, the American Association of Community Theatres, Missouri Citizens for the Arts, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Philanthropic Educational Organization. Brace earned her bachelor's degree in theatre & speech communication and English from Southwest Baptist University. She received her Master of Arts in Theatre from Texas State University.
Trish Erzfeld, of Perryville, was appointed to the Missouri State Council on the Arts.
Ms. Erzfeld is currently the executive director of Perry County Heritage Tourism. She is involved in numerous organizations, including the Missouri Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau, Perry County Creative Arts, Missouri Travel Alliance, and the Missouri Humanities Trust Fund. Erzfeld is an alumni of Perryville High School and a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Education Authentic Leadership Institute.
Jennifer Hoppenthaler, of Winston, was appointed as Circuit Clerk of Daviess County.
Ms. Hoppenthaler currently serves as the circuit court clerk for the 43rd Judicial Circuit of Daviess County, where she has worked since 2011. She is active and involved in her local community with various school and church events. Hoppenthaler is a graduate of Winston R-VI High School.
Logan Hobbs, of Jefferson City, was reappointed as chair of the State Board of Mediation.
Mr. Hobbs serves as the director of labor standards for the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, managing a division of over 30 state government team members to ensure state labor standards are enforced throughout the State of Missouri. He previously served as the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ legislative liaison, representing the Department’s interests in the State Capitol. Hobbs has also served as the supervisor of English instructors for a private English academy in the Republic of Korea, as well as assisted with his family cow-calf operation in McDonald County. Hobbs earned his degree in political science and international relations from Truman State University.
