Today, Governor Mike Kehoe and Mrs. Claudia Kehoe joined the opening day festivities at the 2026 Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, kicking off the annual 11-day showcase of Missouri agriculture.
“Claudia and I hope Missourians from every corner of the state will join us in Sedalia over the next ten days to celebrate the past, present, and future of Missouri agriculture at the Missouri State Fair,” said Governor Kehoe. “For generations, Missouri families have made memories on these fairgrounds, and we look forward to an even more special celebration this year as we recognize 250 years of America."
This year’s “Show-Me Stars & Stripes” theme celebrates America’s 250th anniversary while showcasing the agriculture, traditions, and people that make Missouri special. Throughout the Fair, visitors can enjoy livestock shows and competitions, live entertainment, exhibits, food, and special events recognizing Missourians from across the state.
"The Missouri State Fair continues to be the state’s largest agricultural showcase," said Missouri Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn. "We are proud of the role the State Fair plays in shaping Missouri agriculture, contributing to the state’s economy, and educating the public about the importance and necessity of agriculture."
Each day of the Missouri State Fair will feature a special theme highlighting the people, organizations, and industries that contribute to communities across the state:

Friday, August 14 – Missouri Department of Conservation Day
Saturday, August 15 – Law Enforcement/Firefighter Appreciation Day
Sunday, August 16 – Military Appreciation Day
Monday, August 17 – Missouri Farm Bureau/Farm Family Day
Tuesday, August 18 – Missouri Farmers Care Food Drive $2 Tuesday
Wednesday, August 19 – Senior Appreciation Day
Thursday, August 20 – Governor’s, Legislators’ & Judges’ Day
Friday, August 21 – Missouri Electric Cooperatives Day
Saturday, August 22 – Youth in Agriculture Day
Sunday, August 23 – Family Preparedness/Half Price Day

Governor Kehoe will participate in several events and festivities throughout his time at the Fair. On Military Appreciation Day, he will join Missourians in recognizing the men and women who have served our country and participate in a swearing-in ceremony for military recruits. He will also join members of his Cabinet and Missouri FFA students to pack meals during the Drive to Feed Kids as part of Missouri Farmers Care Food Drive $2 Tuesday.
On Thursday, August 20, Governor and Mrs. Kehoe will host the annual Governor’s Ham Breakfast, a longstanding State Fair tradition that brings together leaders from agriculture, business, government, and communities across Missouri. Tickets for the breakfast may be purchased on the Missouri State Fair website or through the Box Office while supplies last. Governor Kehoe will be available for media following the conclusion of the Governor's Ham Breakfast.
